HAY RIVER, Northwest Territories (April 1, 2014) – The Northwest Territories Power Corporation (NTPC) officially launched its new client-focused website today. The new site includes an online bill payment option and links to new social media accounts.
“It’s important that our government’s services are accessible to the public,” said Minister responsible for the Northwest Territories Power Corporation, Michael Miltenberger. “This website is one example of how we continually strive to meet the needs of our citizens and provide better service.”
Occasional power outages are inevitable, however telling people what’s happening during an outage should be expected and is a new feature of NTPC’s updated website.
“Our customers voiced concerns that NTPC did not communicate well during the Yellowknife power outage in December, and we agree. That’s why we made outage communication a priority on this new website,” said NTPC President & CEO, Emanuel DaRosa. “Our presence on social media will also provide up-to-date information on smartphones and other mobile devices during an outage.”
The website includes the following upgrades, along with a new easy-to-navigate design:
- Option to view your NTPC bill online;
- Online payment available for NTPC bills;
- Outage section where both planned and unplanned outages will be reported;
- Links to social media; and
- Energy conservation and safety tips.
During a planned outage, NTPC will continue to inform customers in advance, however people are encouraged to ‘like’ our page on Facebook and ‘follow’ us on Twitter, to keep up to date on power interruptions.
The new website also boasts easy-to-find customer care information, conservation tips for households, and tips for electrical safety. NTPC
