Fire at Jackfish plant damages mobile unit

Yellowknife, NT (August 18, 2015) -- A mobile generator at Northwest Territories Power Corporation's (NTPC) Jackfish plant sustained damage from a fire last night. No one was injured during the incident and no power outage occurred. 

The Yellowknife Fire Department responded to a fire in a mobile unit, located in a trailer adjacent to the plant. The fire was extinguished and the Fire Marshall continues to investigate the cause. No foul play is suspected at this time.

"Once the site is deemed safe by the fire department NTPC will‎ determine the extent of the damage," said Acting President & CEO, Mike Ocko. "I would like to thank the Yellowknife Fire Department for their quick response."
